In 1982 the company became incorporated under the name of American Fence Company and changed names to Hailee Systems, Inc. in 1990.  Between 1990 and 2000, Hailee Systems, Inc.  completed over 50 large  government fence contracts after which the company split into two companies, Hailee Systems, Inc in Tampa, FL and Florida Detention Systems, Inc. in Melrose, FL .  Hailee Systems, Inc. is now a leading access control distributor in the southeastern United States. 

Florida Detention Systems, Inc. consists of five main divisions:  Product Sales, Hollow Metal & Hardware Installation, Detention Fence Installation, Perimeter Security & Electronics Installation, and Lock & Lock Controls Devices and Installation.  In addition to selling a wide array of products, Florida Detention Systems, Inc. also consults directly to the State of Florida Department of Corrections.
